The recent excess in violent crimes including gun violence has left our communities and city feeling helpless. The socioeconomic impact of violence is costly. Families are fearful that simply sending their children out to play could result in harm, if not death. According to NYPD statistics:  The 100th Precinct in Rockaway, Queens has seen a 37 percent increase in crime  In the 34th in Washington Heights it’s up 24 percent  In the 77th in Crown Heights it’s up 21 percent  In the 113th in South East Queens it has spiked 17 percent  In the 76th in Flatbush, Brooklyn it’s up 11 percent By signing this petition, you are urging the New York City Council as well as State and Federal legislators to find real solutions. Join us in this fight to protect our children, secure safer communities, and provide for a promising future for the next generation. I SUPPORT legislation to combat the proliferation of violent crimes decimating our communities.
